Hi There, my name is Tony, I go by Tonym on other forums. I haven't posted on any forums in quite sometime but I feel it's time to come out of hibernation and this new forum just may be the place to do it. I have known Bushbum for quite sometime and I am proud to call him a friend. I owe a few other friends in the survival industry a review on some great edged tools that I am very late on, so it's about time I dusted myself off and got back in the game. So thank you for the invite Bushbum, I look forwarded to learning from you and all of the great members that our sure to join or have already joined this forum and I hope to contribute in a positive manner!

Hey Tony! Glad you made it here too. My sentiments are eerily similar to yours. I've been 'away' for a long while, and this seems a great place to pick back up with.

Guys thank so much for joining! We have some Great guys here already. I can't wait to see how it all unfolds
Here's a little intro. My name is John, I'm married and have 2 little boys. I've worked as a self defense instructor, a NYC EMT, and an R.N. but my passion is bushcraft and outdoor life. While I certainly am not the most knowledgable, skilled or experienced, I make up for it with Love and Tenacity.
I am blessed to have such wonderful people joining me on this new forum, Thank you!

Guess I should introduce myself, as well.
I go by DOC-CANADA on a couple of other forums. I am just about 68 (next week) and have been playing in the woods in one way or another for about the last 60 years. I have hiked, backpacked, hunted, fished, canoed, but mostly anymore I work at learning and practising wilderness survival and primitive skills. I have a buddy, Phil, who I get together with from time to time, and we play with traps, learn edible and useful plants, and just about anything else that falls under the wilderness survival and primitive skills umbrella. I've learned a few things, but have a ton more to learn. That's why I'm here. Also because I enjoy the (online) company of Rescue Riley (Bushbum), TonyM (GS) and Spooky Pistolero, although TonyM did make it up here, one year (see the post where he's carrying a purse).
A couple of things I have noticed about survival forums over the years. They don't survive without active participation. Also, it's good to show support for the posters, things like hike reports etc. so they know their efforts are not in vain.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to this forum growing in size and activity.

Thanks John for the invite! My name is Kevin. I go by Rolling Snare on Paleoplanet and by Md25V on a few other forums. I'm a biologist in Maryland and thanks to my job I get to spend most of my time outdoors. I used to be a regular member of the Mid Atlantic Primitive Skills Group (http://mapsgroup.org/) but time and life have gotten in the way for quite a few years. I really like making paleo archery tackcle and atlatls and have used only that gear for hunting for a few years, although I will admit that after quite a few years my flint knapping still sucks so my arrowheads are never to pretty. My favorite skill by far is trapping. I have a nice collection of notes and interviews on aboriginal traps from several countries I have visited in S America and in the Philipines. I always go out of my way to find out who has traditional trap knowledge when I am abroad and have found people very willing to share their traditional skills to anyone interested. The last five trapping seasons I have honed my five favorite traps and now use only bush found materials to take everything from squirrel, rabbit, and fox all the way to my first paleo trapped coyote this past season. I look forward to learning from the great experience that you guys will share. Thanks for having me!
